Real patients, real results. Bariatric surgery can bring substantial, sustainable and life-changing weight loss to the great majority of patients. It's not easy — but the road you'll travel will lead you, literally, to a new life. Take a few minutes to read the stories from a few of our successful patients. The journey continues for the rest of their lives but, almost without exception, bariatric surgery patients agree on one thing: It was worth it.
Bob and Sandy — together they lost an amazing combined almost 200 pounds.
Bob — I had a friend who was about to undergo gastric bypass (Roux-en-y) surgery. I
thought it was a pretty drastic solution to a willpower problem. So on my next
visit to my endocrinologist (for my diabetes and other maladies) I asked the
doctor for ammunition to talk my friend out of the surgery. He said, "you should
talk to my secretary, she's had the surgery and YOU should consider it yourself."
Sandy —
It has been almost 5 months since my surgery and I'm not really trying to lose
weight – it just happens. As the weight has come off, my energy level has gone up,
tremendously. I can tie my shoes AND breathe at the same time. I walk faster and
more energetically. My ego isn't hurting either!

Lori — The bariatric
procedure provided me a tool and with the combination of eating right and
exercise and the lifestyle changes I have been extremely successful. I have only
one regret — I should have done it sooner.

Diana — Diana lost 210 pounds.
I look at life a lot more positively now. The silliest things
make me so happy, like crossing my legs in the car or anywhere for that matter.
I know that I can take a flight without paying double fare if I want to. Not to
mention my self-esteem has gone up so much.

Don — In Don's first post-surgery year, he lost 46 pounds. Dr. Peterson performed a
laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy on Don. This procedure is one of several tools available for
surgical weight loss and Don's commitment to himself and the surgery shows.

I actually enjoy working out
now, and not only have I achieved most of my fitness goals, I'm actually getting
to be pretty buff. I just passed an official Air Force fitness test, will
